Who Am I?
Olivia Wong is a queer woman of color who lives in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Hong Kong and then grew up in Sacramento, California after being adopted into a Chinese-American family. Ever since the age of 14, she knew that she would be a writer and director.
After briefly attending USC School of Cinematic Arts MFA Program, she wrote, directed, and produced several of her own short films, along with documentary and music video projects.
Enacting positive social change in the world is the primary reason that she is a filmmaker. She yearns to bring untold stories of marginalized groups of people to the surface and highlight stigmatized topics, such as mental health and racial and gender inequality.
In addition to her filmmaking career, Olivia has also been a freelancer photographer since 2015. She’s available for hire, for anything from portraits to events.
